Hello fellow adventurers! It's time to delve deeper into the plans for my upcoming cycling adventure, and today I'll tell you about the most important piece of equipment: the bike and the packing – or rather, the caravan!

My trusty bike, Karin, will be pulling a rather unique trailer. I've decided to rebuild a bike trailer into a combined pack mule, pet transport, and… well, a small caravan! The idea is to create a mobile base for both myself and my cat companion Mystic, so we can travel comfortably (really important, this is supposed to be a fun adventure, not an extreme one) and have everything we need with us.

The caravan will be a mobile base on wheels. I have a clear vision for how it should look and function. The trailer will serve as storage for all my packing, transport for Mystic, and as a kind of mini-caravan with tent walls. The bottom of the caravan, under the "living area," will be used for storage. This maximizes space and keeps the center of gravity low. I've to acquired a roof box that I'll be repurposing. Thanks to the light but strong material, it's perfect for the purpose.

I'll split the roof into two equal parts and mount them on top of each other to create a stable and spacious roof. The roof will be attached to poles, providing a height of about 1 meter from floor to ceiling inside the caravan. I've even built a cardboard model to visualize the construction! (Planning is so fun!) To create the walls, I'll use a tent that I'll attach around the roof structure. This provides lightweight and flexible protection from the elements. One of the coolest features is my plan to have two windows in the roof. They're not only nice for stargazing, but they're also important for Mystic.

When we're cycling, she can choose to be in the caravan and have access to her litter box, food, water, and a comfortable sleeping place. This makes the journey as comfortable as possible for her too.
I know it's important for Mystic to have a safe and private space, especially during long trips. That's why I've focused on creating a comfortable environment for her in the caravan. The roof windows not only provide light but also allow her to look out and keep an eye on her surroundings.

Now it's time to start building! I'm really looking forward to realizing this idea and sharing the process with you here on the blog. Keep an eye out for more updates on the caravan build and the adventure preparations!
